Our founder and Training Director, Kelley Ortega, brings over 12 years of experience working with animals and has spent the past six years professionally training dogs across a wide range of breeds and behavior levels. Kelley specializes in both pet obedience and advanced working dogs, offering a balanced, real-world approach that builds clarity and trust between dog and owner.
Meet Kelley Ortega – Owner & Head Trainer
Kelley has been actively involved in dog sports and behavior work for years. She has four years of experience as a decoy in PSA (Protection Sports Association) and IGP, giving her deep insight into canine body language, drive development, and handler communication. Her ability to read dogs—whether in high-drive protection scenarios or calm home environments—sets her apart as a versatile, well-rounded trainer.

Kelley shares her life with six dogs: Gracie, Dixie, Topaz, Princess, Razor, and Scooter, several of whom serve as demonstration dogs during lessons, board and train programs, and group sessions. She is currently training with Razor to achieve the PSA Level 3 title, the most advanced level in the sport.

When she’s not training, Kelley enjoys weightlifting, baking, hiking with her dogs, and reading dog training books to continue expanding her knowledge and refining her methods.
